Choreographers: established and new promises

Every year the Company offers a contemporary show that includes two or three creations entrusted in part to established professionals and in part to young choreographers who have distinguished themselves in their own personal, innovative and quality research.

A second program includes songs from the classical and contemporary repertoire.

Contemporaneamente

the first song is entrusted to the young choreographer Nnamdi Christopher Nwagwu

“What they sei is not what we see”

is inspired by the theory of the three selves of sociologist Charles Horton Coley: how we would like to be seen, how we see ourselves, how others see us.

Nwagwu focused on the intimacy of the subjects on stage and the discovery of themselves in relation to the group (understood as a society) and on how much can help or not the discovery of themselves to “adapt” to society.

The ten dancers will lead you slowly into the deepest self of each of them!

In “CarneViva” Gammino tells about his land, Sicily, through memories, popular music and the warm colors of the island.

From his Earth, the choreographer draws inspiration to address a still very topical theme:

“In a patriarchal and masculinist society, where women are still seen as meat and mothers, the arrival of a “stranger” brings havoc and dictates a new balance, reaffirming how alive and strong, in reality, they are.
