Professional School of Dance and Ballet
The commitment of Professione Danza is aimed at the artistic training and personal training of its students, with special attention to those students endowed with special aptitudes, with a view to a future start to the professional career. The teacher training course is organized following the program of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in London, an academy with which Professione Danza is associated and of which it is an approved center.
The course prepares students for the DDE (Diploma in Dance Education) in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap.
Course Schedule.
The program è divided into modules Which can also be studied individually. There are five units of study. To enroll, students must be 17 years of age at the beginning of the course and reach 18 years of age before starting the teaching internship of unit 2.
Organization of the study
All sessions are arranged with students at the beginning of the academic year according to their schedules. Therefore, the duration of the course will depend on the time the student can devote to independent study.
Once registered, students will receive a login to access their own page on the portal Totara learning portal.
All the work of units 1, 2 e 3 will be delivered online. Enrollment in theIntermediate exam of Unit 3 can be taken at any ISTD center. Those who do not have this exam will have to take it at a center of their choice. Professione Danza Parma offers the opportunity to enroll in this course. L‘exam for unit 4, on the other hand, will take place at Professione Danza Parma.
Preparation will be held online, with two sessions per year for all modules and in Parma for Unit 4 only.
Sample curriculum
Year 1
October – December (Unit 1): safe teaching preparation.
Gstudents in possession of the FDI or DDI are exempt.
January – June (Unit 2, Part 1): observation, assistance and teaching practice. Students in possession of FDI or DDI are exempt from the observations. Students in possession of the old DDE unit 1 and 2 are, however, exempt from the entire unit.
October-June (Unit 4, part 1) Students holding the old DDE unit 4 are exempt, in the same genre. This does not apply to students in possession of the DDI.
Year 2
October – December (Unit 1): social, emotional and cognitive development. Students holding the old DDE unit 3 are exempt.
January – June (Unit 2, Part 2): observation, assistance and teaching practice. Students holding the old DDE units 1 and 2 are exempt.
October-June (Unit 4, part 2). Students holding the old DDE Unit 4 are exempt, in the same genre.
